in February 2005 during it's 100th anniversary. Take a historic look

From Chapter 17...
The assailant is now in position to administer a
"vital touch" to his
opponent. This he does by striking the defendant's head at the side
just back of the ears (V. t, Fig 1, Chart) with his open palms
(Illustration No. 59). The force of this blow is very slight and
if it were given at any other part of the body would hardly be
felt.
Its effect, here, is to produce dizziness amounting in some
cases
to unconsciousness, much depending on the force of the blow and
the susceptibility of the victim to such a "touch".
