What is an Accredited Academy?

Notice to all applicants:

  • Academy must be a Brazilian Jiu-jitsu academy.
  • Your School's Black Belt Instructor must be registered with one of the following Federations: IBJJF or Sub-Federations: Confederação Brasileira de Jiu-jitsu (Brazil), United States Brazilian Jiu-jitsu Federation or the Federação de Jiu-Jitsu do Estado do Rio de Janeiro.
  • Academy must be located in the United States.
  • The Head instructor must be present to teach at least once per week for the majority of the year and must hold the rank of Black Belt or Full Instructor.

Head Instructor Information:
Provide name and rank of the head instructor of your academy and the name and contact
information (phone or email address) of the head instructor's teacher that certified your
instructor-- unless your head instructor's last name is Gracie, you must provide information
to trace his/her lineage to the Gracie family (please describe in "additional comments" section below).

Logo Graphic/Image:
Your accredited listing can display a graphic/image such as as school logo, head instructor, etc.
The image must be a jpg or gif and cannot exceed 140x140 pixels in dimension and cannot have
a filesize greater than 15K. Images not conforming to these specifications will not be accepted.

This image will be stored on Jiu-jitsu.net. To provide us with an image, you can enter the url where
we can find the graphic on the web, or you can email us the graphic later. If you do not have the
capability to produce a jpg or gif, for a small additional fee, we will convert your printed logo into a web graphic.

An image is not required. At any time in the future you can provide one.
